A 98-YEAR-OLD woman was left sitting in her night clothes for 14 hours in a hospital while waiting for an ambulance to take her home. Great-grandmother Catherine Anderson was treated at the Western Infirmary, Glasgow, for fluid in her lungs, before being transported to Gartnavel Hospital for further treatment.Source: Evening Times, Scotland.
After a two-week stay, Mrs Anderson was cleared to be discharged and told she would be sent home. Nurses got her out of bed at 6am and she was put in a chair to wait for an ambulance to arrive. But patient transport staff did not arrive to take her home until 8.15pm.
