NHS Ageism: Case studies

Research published by the charity Help The Aged finds that many geriatricians think the NHS is institutionally ageist.

The doctors, all members of the British Geriatrics Society, also said they would have concerns about how the NHS would treat them in old age.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. Now I'm a pensioner myself I notice the different attitude shown to me by the GP and other medical services.

One thing that is extremely obvious is the lack of respect for older people. We're more like irritants rather than the people who pay their salaries.
