All they ever do is 'move the the deckchairs' (on the Titanic). Until we have the enforcement of 'Best Practice' in Medicine and Surgery the Dinosaurs will prevail and patients will continue to die and be maimed. <br />Before he left the Dept of Health, Sir Ian Carruthers once opined, "The NHS is the only Industry in the World that spends money on research to identify best practice and then makes it optional". We need to rein in this 'prudent minority' who do harm by using anecdote and tradition to guide thier treatment of patients. They have forgotten DO NO HARM is the tenet not do what I've always done.<br />Give the Law teeth and repeal the 'Bolam test'.
